Matthew 28: Resurrection and Ascension of Jesus Collin Leong. June 23rd 2025. (v1-10) Jesus Has Risen (Psalm 16:1-11; Psalm 49:1-20; Mark 16:1-8; Luke 24:1-12; John 20:1-9) (v1-4) After the Sabbath, at dawn of the first day of the week (Sunday), Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to the tomb. There was a violent earthquake, for an angel had rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lighting, and his clothes as white as snow. The guards were so afraid of him that they shook and became like dead men. According to Mark 16:1-2 , there were three women who went to the tomb with spices to anoint Jesus' body. They were Magdalene, Mary the mother of James ("the other Mary") and Salome (mother of James and John). They were worried they can't move the stone.
